We are pleased to launch project EHSAS (Ensuring Health and Hygiene for Safe Motherhood) for a period of 3 years commencing from 1st October, 2024 This sustainable health initiative focuses on enhancing the dignity and well-being of mothers and children from indigenous tribal communities in Saharsa, Bihar. EHSAS aims to support 680 young mothers and their children up to five years old across 15 villages. The project will establish 30 Self-Help Groups for women and 15 Adolescent Girls Groups to promote health and hygiene education. It emphasizes community involvement in planning and implementing programs to ensure safe pregnancies and postnatal care. Addressing significant health challenges in Bihar, EHSAS includes the formation of Village Health Committees with trained volunteers to facilitate access to healthcare and nutritional support. Goals and Objectives: The primary goal is to improve the well-being of Santhal tribal families through safe motherhood. Key objectives include raising awareness about reproductive healthcare, minimizing maternal and child mortality, and promoting hygienic living conditions. Impact: The project will directly benefit 1,415 individuals and indirectly impact 4,750 others, creating a healthier and more empowered community.
