The intention of the program was to generate awareness on gender, sexuality and sex among the the adolescent living in and around the slums through awareness sessions in neighborhood schools. The initial focus was on setting up new slums and and identification of new cases. Until a few months passed we couldn’t initiate this program in schools. Besides this there were lots of resistance from the school principals to have this program because they themselves were shying away from this topic to be addressed in their schools. However we conducted awareness sessions in 18 schools reaching out to 2300 students and teachers. Our target was 25 schools. the pending schools will be covered in this academic year as it begins.
